Bio

Jo Stanford
I use painting, sculpture and photography to explore identity through the layers we acquire through life. My practice is concerned with the urban experience in the urban space. It is an exploration of identity as multicultural, global, urban and interconnected. Culture, and with it identity, spreads like the surface of a body of water, spreading towards every available space or trickling down towards new spaces through fissures and gaps eroding what is in its way.
